WHAT IS IT?
HCSC Recreational Program is an in-house program; meaning all games and practices take place right here in Hunters Creek.  It is a non-results orientated program, scores are not kept and there are no league standings.  The emphasis is on fun and development, every child is equal and deserves to enjoy and benefit from the gifts of soccer.

WHEN IS IT?
There are two seasons, one in the Fall and one is the Spring.  Each season is ten games long.  The games take place on Saturdays, the majority of which will be in the morning.
Practices take place on weeknights; each team will be allocated one night of practice that will be at the discretion of the coach and field availability.  When registering you can request your preferred nights of practice and we will make sure your child is placed on a team that practices on that particular night.

WHO CAN PLAY?
The youngest a child can participate in an organized Club league is 4 years of age.  Our Rec league is co-ed and ranges from U'5 to U'15.

HOW DO WE GET INVOLVED?
To register your child into HCSC you can use the online registration facility.  On the home page click login for returning users or, register now for any new players.  Follow the instructions and please don't hesitate to contact us with any registration problems.

Be kind when children do it wrong. Minimize
"THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF"

Let's take the fear out of the equation and realize that these are young children playing a game of soccer.  Mistakes will happen, but these mistakes are crucial staging posts in the road to success and player development.  It is important that coaches and parents learn to manage the mistakes more effectively and to the young player's advantage and needs.

How easy is it to criticize from the sidelines?  Instructions are easy to give, but not always easy to follow, especially when the person receiving them is 11 years or younger.  Player development is all about problem solving, decision making and learning.  Learning is a long-term process where decisions and mistakes are vital if things are to truly stick.  A game of soccer is a short-term event and simply part of the learning process.

We at Hunter's Creek recognize this and empower our players to take responsibilty and make decisions.  We create a positive learning environment where children can come and play without any fear, where they can make mistakes and enjoy the game.  We are kind, when children do it wrong.

 My First Soccer Game Minimize
It's my first soccer game,
I can hardly wait.
Hurry up mom,
I don't want to be late.

I get to the field,
I can't help but smile.
My first soccer game,
I've waited a while.

The man blows the whistle,
we all start to run,
I chase after the ball,
this is so much fun.

I look at the ball,
it starts to roll.
I kick it really hard,
and it goes in the goal.

I look up at the big people,
there is a noise in the crowd.
But I kicked the ball,
I feel so proud.

A big man stands up,
and begins to shout.
"thats the wrong goal,
get that kid out"

I thought I did good,
but now I feel all alone.
This isn't fun anymore,
I want to go home.
